Demon tattoo

Almost every culture and religion has its own version of a demon. And all of them can get you inspired for your next demon tattoo designs.

Demon is an evil spirit or devil. Especially one thought to possess a person or act as a tormentor in hell. The word demon actually comes from Greek and doesn’t mean anything bad! It stood for a spirit of divine power. Only in the Chirsitanity-dominated Middle Ages has the demon become an evil thing in need of exorcism.

Some will tattoo themselves an angel, others will turn to the dark side of power and bet on something much more sinister. Images of demons have been present in tattoo art for years and they are present in almost every style. However, it is the realism that shows the biggest claw with them. Which is easy to find out while looking through the demon tattoos in the gallery below. This is a proposition for those who like darker climates where the devil and his fellow take the place of honor.

At the most basic level, male demon tattoos reflect proclivities in the way of nihilism and darkness. Baphomet, the goat-headed figure, is probably the most popular choice, but there are endless satanic critters to get inked. Some people also get demon tattoos to remind themselves of the inner demons they are personally overcoming.

While some designs do depict a demon head or demonic face, a tattoo itself is nothing bad. In Japanese folklore demons or oni can be a symbol of protection. So not all demons are evil either.
