Belly button piercing have been popular for a long time. These days most girls just like them because they are simply sweet.
A navel piercing is a type of piercing located through the skin of the navel. People also call it a belly button piercing. It is most commonly located on the upper fold of skin. This piercing can also be performed underneath or around the edges of the navel. It may heal quickly and with no irritations, like an ear piercing. Or may heal more like a surface piercing with the associated extended healing time. Healing usually takes around 6–12 months.
The most commonly used jewellery for such body modification are belly button barbells. Belly button barbells are curved barbells. For this reason people call it sometimes “banana barbells”. The barbell features a threaded ball on either end. The curved shape mimics the angle of the belly button so it fits more comfortably. It also allows the balls to sit neatly against the skin, with one ball above the belly button and the other against the navel. Most belly button barbells have a bigger bottom ball and a smaller top ball.
