It was produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Then, in 2019 they made a photorealistic computer-animated remake of this traditionally animated film.
Story
In short The Lion King tells the story of Simba (Swahili for lion). It is a young lion who is to succeed his father, Mufasa, as King of the Pride Lands. However, after Simba’s paternal uncle Scar murders Mufasa. Scar manipulates Simba into believing he was responsible. The young lion flees into exile. He is growing up in the company of the carefree outcasts Timon and Pumbaa. Then Simba receives valuable perspective from his childhood friend, Nala, and his shaman, Rafiki. Finally he returns to challenge Scar to end his tyranny and take his place in the Circle of Life as the rightful King.
For those of us who grew up on it, The Lion King taught us a lot about family, life, friendship and even love. It also introduced us to pain, grief, and heartbreak. One of its most important lessons, was the Swahili phrase ‘hakuna matata’ – ‘it means no worries’!
The story’s morals of loyalty, determination and good triumphing over evil gives Lion King tattoo symbolic meaning. The iconic animation provides plenty of tattoo inspiration for exciting body art.
